Green Points for Green Products

February 8th, 2010 by admin

HGBL Green Pointsow do clients know the value of a Green product or service?  It would be nice if everyone was well schooled on the fundamental issues of Green and Sustainable practices, but the over-crowded nature of everyday life, makes that dream impossible.  Customers look for endorsements, certifications, and recommendations from legitimate authorities to help them easily locate a good product or service.  We are all familiar with Underwriter’s Laboratories (UL), the Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval, or the Energy Star program used for energy efficient appliances.  The Green Business League is already a well known name in the certification process.  The Green Business League has introduced a Green Points system that allows any company to apply for Green business certification points.  A custom designed logo is issued with the assigned points that the company can use in the promotion of its product.  The idea has real merit in a world that is often confused about the Green merit of their purchases.  The logo is awarded purely the merits of the product or service, and not merely a purchased credential.

On the other side of the program is a way for companies to accumulate Green Points toward a credible Green business certification.  The Green Business League has a standing list of Green Practices that are used by Certified Green Consultants across America and Canada.  Many of these Green Practices may not be commonly known, but now businesses can identify Green products and services at a glance when they see the GBL Green Points logo.  These means that there has been an independent review of the product’s or service’s Green merits, and an award of Green value has been assigned to the offering.

By purchasing GBL Green Points products and services a company can build credit toward the 100 point goal required for the silver level Green Business Certification.  Traditionally, a business wishing to earn an honest Green business certification would hire a Certified Green Consultant to provide the guidance of a Sustainability Plan that would map out the process required to earn the Green Business Certification.  This is now a the way for businesses to move toward their Green business certification by buying Green Points products and services.

The mystery is made less mysterious by looking for the Green Points when shopping around.  If there is any product or service that does not presently have Green Points, the process of application is very easy and requires only a $100 fee.  Frankly, this an open door to any business wishing to raise the level of play from Greenwashing to Green integrity.  There is no longer a need to make claims that have not true authority behind them.  While Green Points are not a certification or even an endorsement, they do demonstrate that the product or service being offered is deemed to have Green merit.  That merit is further substantiated by the ability of customers served being able to apply these credits toward a credible Green business certification.

The GBL Green Points system was launched on January 1, 2010, and should quickly gain popularity by hundreds and thousands of businesses who have products and services that offer obvious Green benefits.  Green Business League assures supporters that this is not a “Buy In” type of program.  The $100 price tag is simply a cost covering fee, so there is no financial incentive to pass through a high-paying applicant.  Integrity of the program is relatively transparent, not driven by special interests, or merely a website purchase.  Every GBL Green Point award comes from a serious review and clear Green merit demonstrated.

The buying public will discover that the GBL Green Points system is the ideal way to easily locate a Green product or service.  When this seal is in use, it means that there has been an independent review.  This is not a laboratory analysis but a practical review of the expected value of the product or service in the workplace.  One of the recent Green Points awards went to EcoStrip, a manufacturer of a unique type of power strip.  The Green Business League awarded EcoStrip 5 Green Points for each of these strips with a maximum of 25 points for multiple purchases.  Any company purchasing the EcoStrip product is assured that it has 5 points, and up to 25 points, as it moves toward a Green business certification.  What can be appreciated about this system is that every company can participate at its own speed; no two companies will apply the exact same tools, but there is palpable and obvious environmental improvement.  This stands out as a far better system than the guesswork claims presently in use.

The Green Business League invites all providers to request an evaluation of their product or service.  There is no guarantee of Green Points award if there is no evident Green merit to the offering.  There is a practical viewpoint at work that asks the Green value question for any application.  Green Points are awarded based upon where the offering will improve the environmental performance of the user.  This is not a technical matter that is done a laboratory, but a pragmatic evaluation of the good accomplished by the product or service.  For these reason, Green Points assessment can be accomplished in less than 30 days.

Companies eager to receive their GBL Green Points award may apply for the program at the Green Business League website.  Any application that does not receive a GBL Green Points award will be fully refunded.  Expect a 30 day cycle for the process to be completed. Why You Need Search Engine Optimisation To Promote Your Website

February 8th, 2010 by admin

Search Engine Optimization is art of getting your website into the top organics results page for specific keywords that are typed into search engines by web users.
When it comes to websites, there is often a major area that is simply  overlooked. I have witnessed this with some credible blue chip companies. You can have the smartest best-looking most cutting edge website in the whole world. But if it cannot be found it is not reaching its potential. Not by a long way. The website will not work for you is it cannot be found.

When embarking on a search engine optimization campaign (or SEO as its referred to) the foundation stone of the success is selection of good keywords.

So what makes a good keyword. Obviously it will be something relevant to your products or services supplies, but wait. There is more to it. The internet users are split into three sectors when they are using the internet to source products or services? Browsers, comparers and ready to buy visitors.

To maximise your return on investment when promoting your website you need to target visitors who are ready to buy. Ready to buy consumers will be quite specific with their search terms. They know what they want to buy at this stage. The keywords being targeted should be achievable, specific and geared to ready to buy web surfers.

Some keywords are very easy to get to page one of google. There may not be so much competition as another keyword. This is why sometimes SEO firms will dictate the keywords. They wil tell you the easiest words to optimise.

My advice is to find a company that has open book policy about keyword data. They will to be able to show you number of searches and number of results which is available in the public domain. Though it is not that simple or quick to compile a report without specialist and typically expensive software. SEO companies will usually have specialized software which they can use to provide reports.

Once you have selected your SEO keywords its important that the website is geared up internally. This means that amendments may need to be made to the internal framework and code. Keyword density may also need amending within the text, but importantly the text must not lose its power of communication, or lose its vital message to the visitor. This is where SEO becomes a science.

If you cannot access various aspects of your website then neither can your SEO consultant. If you website is templated then certain HTML code may not be accessible. This may lead to the results taking longer to achieve or even being impossible to achieve.

There are literally hundreds of tools and methods that can be applied to market your website. Always check with your web marketing SEO firm that they use white hat techniques. Some firms use back hat methods which include cloaking and using link farms to buy loads of low value links.

When selecting a web marketing firm always ask for testimonials and case studies. Any reputable company will have this information readily available, and usualy displayed on their website, and also be proud to show you. You can always ask if they mind you contacting one of their customers. SEO can be an expensive business to begin with and its crucial to choose a good firm.

Its worthwhile asking about staff experience and qualifications who will be undertaking the web marketing project. Are they university graduates? Have they studied Information Technology? Have they worked as computer programmers? All these types of questions should uncover the levels of expertise of the web marketing technicians and the SEO company as a whole. Many companies out there claim to be experts in SEO and in actual fact all that they do is submit your website url to search engines. This alone will achieve nothing.

You may be reading this thinking well I can simply do my own Adwords. Yes of course you can and its fairly simple to get started. However in my experience search engine marketing such as adwords can cost between 3 and 5 times more that search engine optimisation.

Sometimes, search engine marketing, ie adwords etc, is the best option, for instance if you have a brand new website and want immediate results. If you decide to opt for adwords then specialist advice may save you a small fortune. There are lots of ways to reduced AdWords spend.

Thanks for reading my post. I hope it helps you to see why promoting your website is a must.

The Correct Legal Forms for Online Businesses

February 8th, 2010 by admin

Legal forms can protect your online business by improving the ability to negotiate better deals and by equipping your business to handle any disputes more effectively. Such legal forms enable accurate communications, safeguarding you from potentially threatening legal action.

Simply put, a Disclaimer is a “denial of responsibility”. If you collect and store personal information about your visitors on your site, then a legal disclaimer or a privacy policy will serve well to protect you and also be reassuring to your users.

A Privacy Policy is used to disclose how your business will collect a visitor’s personal information; how it will be stored and used; and whether or not it will be shared with third parties. A Privacy Policy will also indicate how the personal information is to be protected.

A Terms of Use document will lay out the rules pertaining to a visitor’s use of your Intellectual Property; or it may serve as a contractual agreement between your business and users of the service that it provides.

An Income Earnings Disclaimer alerts the user of your website to any potential financial risk that could be encountered. While certain products, when specifically and successfully utilized, may create wealth and earn income, there is no guarantee that every user of such a product will have the same desired results. A Disclaimer to this effect will ensure that users are aware of the risks involved and are not assured of earning the same income as any other user.

A Website Sales Agreement constitutes a contract between your business and a buyer when selling your website. It helps to protect your rights and your money and will ensure that contractual obligations are fulfilled.

If you are in the online business of trading in Domain Names, a Domain Name Sale Agreement will be useful to you on your site. This sets out the terms of sale and transfer of a domain name from the seller (you) to the buyer, ensuring that the name is correctly transferred and that payment is received. The Assignment of a Domain Name is used to transfer the rights to a Domain Name from the owner to another party.

These legal forms can protect you, the owner of a website, as well as your online business. There is no need to be susceptible to online theft with access to legal protection like this.

Easy Wine Making

February 7th, 2010 by admin

When it comes down to homemade wine making, common knowledge plays a big part in the process. If you combine the basic elements of how to make your own wine with your innate instinct and taste, the result should, surely, be a positive one.

Crushing and Pressing In general, about 50 pounds of grape will yield five gallons of wine. Once your grapes are harvested, they must be placed in a plastic vat (available at you local wine supply shop) and crushed. While the age-old method of smashing grapes by foot is proved to be the most efficient “even compared to modern technologies ” smaller batches of grapes can be crushed using your hands or a potato masher. In order to ensure homogeneous crushing of the grapes, make sure the vat is not more than 2/3 full before you begin smashing them. After crushing the grapes, add the recommended amount of Campden tablets (potassium metabisulfite) into the mixture “now called must- in order to prevent any unwanted yeast growth. Cover with a cloth and let it sit for 24 hours.

Fermentation After the mixture has rested for a day, its time to add 1 packet of wine yeast (not to be confused with bread yeast). The most common types of wine fermenting yeasts are Montrachet and Prix de Mousse. To stir in the yeast, use your hands so as to elevate the temperature of the must and activate the yeast. Using your fingers, comb through the mixture and remove the stems, crushing any fruits that were left attached to them. Cover with a cloth, and let it sit again. Within 48 hours, the must should begin to fizz and it will look like its boiling by the third day of fermentation. When a week passes, the fizzing will stop and the wine will be ready to be filtered of seeds, pulp and any leftover grape skin.

Filtering To filter it, the wine can strained using a cheese cloth or mesh bag. Make sure to squeeze the must thoroughly to remove all juices. The resulting liquid is to be stored in a glass carboy or into an empty wine barrel (also available at your local wine supply store). From this point on, oxidization of the wine must be prevented at all costs by eliminating all contact with air. Many wine makers choose to use an airlock to keep oxygen out, but allow gases produced during fermentation to escape.

Racking At this stage, it will only take 2-3 weeks for the fizzing to stop. Once the fizzing stops, its time to rack the wine. Racking will remove what is called the lees from the wine. Lees is the used up yeast and grape pieces that remain, unconsumed, at the bottom of the barrel of carboy. A common way of doing this, is siphoning the wine out of the container to clean the bottom. Once the bottom of the lees has been removed, the wine is to be poured back into the container. A second racking will be required 2-3 months after the first, with a third and final racking 3-4 months after that.

The wine can then be aged in a pitch-black dark, cool place until its ready to be drank. Even though the wine can be tasted at this point, the longer you leave it to age, the fuller the flavour will be.

Clickable Links Inside Your Videos!

So What is Video Advertising Anyway?…

Video advertising is advertising that incorporates streaming video. Streaming banners are an example of video advertising. With this type of ad, the video is confined within the boundaries of the banner ad, which is excellent because it can run without hindering the user from viewing the remainder of the website. Streaming video in the body of an email is another popular form of video ad.

What do video ads usually contain? Think of it like a miniature TV commercial. It might include a demonstration of a product, a testimonial about its effectiveness, or employ a clever “plot” to achieve better “branding” or recognition for the items or services in question. Online video ads are also quite popular with political candidates and for displaying movie previews or “trailers.”

However, this is THE holy grail of video advertising. No more hoping against hope that the viewers of my videos were going over and typing my website in. And how do you track those visitors anyway? You can’t. No more of that rubbish for MY videos. My visitors now click straight into my videos to reach my site.

Article Marketing SEO: Quick Start Guide

February 7th, 2010 by admin

One of the essential keys to successful article marketing is by writing an article that is found and indexed “highly” by the search engines. The reason why is that you want people who are interested in your topic to be able to find your content easily by doing an internet search for your keywords. This is what we call an organic search.

So for example, if you write articles on natural dog food, you want your target audience to be able to type in “natural dog food” in their search box and your site, blog, or articles are listed in the top 10 results for that keyword phrase.

In order to achieve this result, you must learn to optimize your articles and article titles with the keywords that your prospects naturally search for. This is called search engine optimization a.k.a. SEO.

Of course there are many companies and SEO experts out there who charge hundreds to thousands of dollars to help get business owners on Google’s “page 1″, but let me tell you that the average online entrepreneur does not need to go this route. Leave that to the large companies with the big marketing budgets.

You can get on the road to article marketing SEO success quickly when you follow these steps that I’ve outlined for you today:

1. Learn Your Market
It’s important before you attempt to optimize any of your articles with keywords and long-tail keyword phrases that you know HOW your market searches for your topic online. This is extremely important and it will differentiate you from the amateurs. The first way to do this is to first think about how you search for your information on this topic. Think like an everyday web visitor, not the “expert” that you are in your niche.

2. Do Your Keyword Research
The second way to achieve a more statistical result is to do keyword research. Using free tools such as Wordtracker and Google’s free keyword tool, you can discover what keyword phrases your potential customers are using to find information on your topic.

This works by first researching a more broad keyword phrase such as “dog food” and then using one of the keyword tools to give you a list of more targeted keywords related to the general one such as: natural dog food, organic dog food, holistic dog food, homemade dog food, etc.

3. Place Your Keywords Strategically - (Sort of:)
The next step to article marketing SEO success is to make sure that you use your keywords strategically in your article. First, your keyword phrase “natural dog food” needs to be in the title of your article.

Second, your keyword phrase needs to be somewhere in the first to second paragraph of your article. This reinforces that this phrase is indeed the topic of your article to the search engines.

Third, you should also mention the keyword phrase somewhere later in the body of the article, again reinforcing the importance of the keyword to the search engines, but it’s important to NOT stuff your article with your keywords.

So I always suggest to article marketing folks, to simply write about their topic naturally. Do not put a tremendous amount of focus on keyword placement or you will mention your phrases too much and probably get your articles rejected from article directories and looked at as a “spammer” from the rest of the web.

In conclusion, proper article marketing SEO is a key ingredient to your long-term article marketing success. It doesn’t have to be perfect, but its something that you need to do in order to see tangible results from all your article writing efforts.

If you have tropical fish and want to upgrade your aquarium, or even if you are just considering getting fish and are looking for an aquarium then you might be considering what type of fish tank to buy. In the past there hasn’t been a huge variety of fish tanks available and most fish were kept in the plain round bowl type or the big rectangular type aquariums.
